DESCRIPTION AND SITUATION

El Drago Rural House is a rustic building which is over 100 years old. and has the tipical characteristics in use in la Gomera for this type of building. It is built of local stone and wood, and so retaining the essence of what was originally a small house occupied by agricultural workers, but now totally modernised to the requirement standards of today.

The furniture is of wood, and in rustic style, perfectly complementing the décor, yet both functional and agreeable, giving everything necessary to the building so one may enjoy every comfort. The lounge/diner, which also has a sofa-bed, is shielded from the kitchen area by the kitchen bar front. This is made of wood with a granite working surface, and may also be used as a dining table. In the bathroom, a hydro-massage shower has been installed. This will enable you to benefit from a most relaxing shower experience.

From the house, there are marvellous views of the Atlantic ocean, as well as the island’s many valleys and mountain ridges to see and explore. Nearby you will see the Calvaria mountain, the town of Alajeró and “La Caldera” – a natural monument, which is the last volcanical cone on La Gomera island. In front of the house is is a wide terrace with a garden area, from where you can see the pleasant countryside and The suroundings.

The group of houses known as “El Drago” is slightly to the south of Alajeró town centre, and approximately 700 metres above sea level, near the central part of the island, between the Garajonay National Park and Playa de Santiago on the south coast. Near the house are many well maintained footpaths which are really worth exploring.

If required, for a supplement of € 5 per person per day, a traditional Gomeran breakfast can be supplied, Consisting of milk, gofio and bollería típica

Towels, sheets, blankets, electric water heater, baby’s cot, sofa-bed, the hydro-massage shower Washing machine and television are all supplied.

The centre of the nearest town, Alajeró is 1.5 km away. There, there is a public telephone and a supermarket, but in Playa de Santiago there are more Supermarkets, shops, taxi rank, cash machine, doctor and a pharmacy.
The port of San Sebastian is 40km away, Playa de Santiago 15 km, and Alajeró airport is 5 km away.
